The Lobster Roll Rumble took place last Thursday night in New York City, with four contenders from Maine competing to win the honor of best lobster roll. We’re happy to report that after serving up over 1,500 rolls each, the Editor’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards both went to Maine businesses.
The Clam Shack from Kennebunkport won Editor’s Choice for the 2nd year in a row with their roll, which contains the meat from a one-pound lobster on a round hamburger-style bun. Eventide Oyster Co.‘s brown butter lobster roll on a steamed bun won the People’s Choice award.
Congratulations to the winners, as well as to food truck Bite Into Maine from Cape Elizabeth and The Galley Restaurant & Pub from Naples, who also competed.
