Eventide Oyster Co. is the hottest new restaurant in Portland. The raw bar opened last year and has been receiving national praise ever since.

The restaurant is owned by Arlin Smith, Andrew Taylor, and Mike Wiley, all of whom were chefs at Hugo’s next door. The chefs show their talent through carefully prepared dishes using seafood both from Maine (lobster, of course) and away. Their wide selection of oysters is unparalleled in any other Portland restaurant.

And Eventide has caught the attention of the rest of the national food press as well. Food & Wine editor Dana Cowin listed it in her Best Restaurants of 2012 picks, the James Beard Foundation team listed the Cucumber-Cured Arctic Char with Melon, Mint, and Kasha as one of the 12 Dishes We Loved in 2012 and finally, Erik Desjarlais, writing for Food. Eat. Drink., recommended it as one of 50 restaurants to try in 2013.

So be sure to add Eventide Oyster Co. to your list of restaurants to try, where you’ll be happy whether you order several courses for a meal or sit at the bar for happy hour cocktails and a dozen oysters.
